I am a current high school senior, and Kenyon hopeful (a Kenyon very hopeful, truth be told) from Kentucky. I made two campus visits and, on my first, I interviewed with a senior. This fall I received a letter from the admissions office that said: "Before leaving Kenyon, Amanda Lert (my interviewer) handed me a list of favorite interviews from my travel area. She requested that I keep in contact with you and assured me that you are someone who "would make a definite impact at Kenyon." "
Throughout the whole admissions process I've tried to not be too cynical, and at the same time keep realism in the picture, thus my dilemma: do those of you who've gone through the process think this is on the level, or nothing more than a formality or mass mailing type deal? Did anyone else receive a similar letter?
Again, I don't want to sound like a skeptic because I want nothing more than to attend Kenyon next fall, but at the same time not investing too much would help if things don't pan out. Anyway, thanks for any help, and I promise, should I end up at Kenyon I won't pollute the place with the level of neurosis found in this entry. The college application process seems to bring it out in the best of us.
